Cats to be our loving companions and in rural/farm settings to help their owner control mice. It would be enough of a reason for Him to make cats simply because they climb in our laps, purr, and comfort us when we are feeling blue. Dogs to be our faithful companions, friends, protectors and in some cases do specialized jobs (cattle herding) to help their master in his/her profession and to do life saving/public service work (drug dogs, police dogs, etc.) He was very gracious in the skills he encoded within dogs and cats, as just the fact that the are loyal, comforting, and always a friend would have been enough. As far as wildlife goes, I think they all just make this Earth more beautiful. Whether it is a bright bird flying through the blue sky, or a mountain lion teaching her cubs to hunt, all wild animals in their natural environment are a beautiful thing and we are all very lucky and blessed to share this world with animals. Good Question!
