Several allied or axis plane are famous for its performance, like Sopwith camel, Fokker, Albatros in WW1, as well as Spitfire, Messerschmidt, Mustang and many others in WW2...Which one was the best in your opinion; try to support your answer with some technical data or other facts !

the Fokker DR-I Triplane in WW1 ( could out fly anything ) especially at slow flight

And the ME-262 in WW2 ( first jet, fastest, highest, )

we would all be speaking german if either of these planes went into production a year sooner than they did.

I guess the best answer for that would be that time has destroyed most of them, which is the most plentiful Warbird being flown today, I beleive you'll find it to be the P51, even though I personally like the spitfire a lot better.

P- 51 Mustang, it was able to shoot down some ME- 262s. And the F6f- Hellcat of WW2. It went face to face with the Japanese Zero. The Hellcats where armored, could go higher than a Zero.
