I'll be glad to help you with this topic.
It depends if that 5-6min is a strenuous enough of a workout to burn off more calories than what you've gained for that day. To get fit, you need much more than 5-6min of workout an hour because you have to tone your muscles, strengthen them, and have enough endurance to do so. 5-6min of working out every hour won't get you that endurance, but will get you a sweat if and only if it is a strenuous work out like: sprints, squats, resistant training (with bands, weights) or common heavy weights light repetitions/light weight heavy repetitions.
To get more healthy, you need a brilliant diet, which is a hard feat to accomplish. Fish, potatoes, meats, and lots of steamed vegetables with rice is your best option for an optimum diet with your two hour workout straight a day plan.
To get a nice slim, tone body, sprints, squats, lunges, sit ups and bench pressing is a great way to go. Work the same muscles every other day, for example: chest, biceps, and back every Monday, Wednesday, Friday - whereas the legs, abs, triceps on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (if wanted.)
You ALWAYS want at least one free day a week to relax, and rejuvenate your body. Make sure you drink plenty of water whenever you work out, or diet. It's KEY!
Hope this helped you.

I do believe that its not the accumulated amount of exercise but rather the length of the continuous exercise.
Something to do with raising your heart beat and keeping it at a good level to help burn fat. Thats a good cardio work out.
Less then 20 minutes is almost useless and you need at least 40 minutes to really start burning away heavy fat storage like cellulite.
When you split up those minutes into 5 or 6 minute increments all you're doing is preventing your heart from reaching its peak fat-burning rate.
I would ask your doctor to be sure tho - it might be a different story if you are really out of shape or even slightly obese. Your heart probably works a little harder and gets to its peak a little faster if you've got extra weight invovled in you exercise :)

I exercise for about 2 hours all together every day. I don't drink anything but water, don't eat sweets, and only eat very little regular food. I lost 40 pounds in 5 months. It's not that hard. I do about 250 crunches every day, 100 side crunches (each side) and do about 1 hour 15 minutes on the weight machine and stair stepper. It's kind of fun actually!!!

It takes at least 30 minutes to get your body to the point of effective workout. A 10 minute warm up of cardiovascular work, 10 minutes of strength training and 10 minutes of stretching to cool down is more effective. Your body would only begin to be effected if you worked out for only five minutes.
Depending on what your workout goal is, if you want to burn fat you will need to exercise at least 30 minutes in order to get your heart and blood flowing fast enough to metabolize and burn fat and calories that you have already consumed and stored in your body.

20 minutes of continuious exercise is better. 30 minutes every other day is good. I do this and it has worked good for me. On the days I don't do my exercise routine at home I go for at least a 30 minute walk.

20ish minutes straight is ideal because it doesnt give your muscles enough time to rest in between thus you'll burn it all at once. you can try 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night to go for 30.
