I haven't watched the Program on Discovery Channel yet it's on Sun. But if they have found Jesus' remains along with his wife, Mary Magdeline I can not imagine what will play out.

I have addressed these questions in "answer" before... there is a difference between "rhetoric" or "dogma" and faith. As human beings, we crave to learn. We love to learn. Learning brings about new things and new things can be challenging. We often fear change. However, in my experience, change is the one true constant.
The "gold old days" never really existed even way back when.
Questioning and looking for answers is a human condition.
Will it "hurt" society? That really depends upon your perspective. In the long run, no. Society will continue in one form or another. A more important question to ask instead of "will something hurt society", might be "what can I learn from this experience".

They can get many scholars to agree with them. I am stubborn enough and intelligent enough to know that it could not be any remains of the body of Jesus. He did not have children by Mary Magdeline, and he ascended into heaven, just the way the Bible reports.
So I am not worried about it. I will watch the documentary, knowing that it's been done before by the BBC years ago, and refuted then, as it will be refuted now.

It wouldn't surprise me at all! Why wouldn't Jesus have married and had a family? What would be really cool, is if there were still decedents of Jesus living today!
I can't wait to see the program!
If we find out this is true, it will not change the love I have for Jesus.
When you think about the history of the bible, it has been re-written, and re-written over the centuries. The King James version was also made so satisfy the king of England at the time!! He wanted to re-marry (or something) so he threatened the pope with death if he didn't re-write the bible to his liking..
If you are interested in theology history, look up gnostic gospels..

It should not. I feel the whole world has a right to know every thing they find. But the way the world is now you can bet on it as their negative and/or money hungry people want to lay clam too it or make money from it. I'm neither rich nor poor.

Just a guess here, but I don't think it can be authenticated. I know they found one inscription for a child that said "son of Jesus." How many guys back then were named Jesus? I'm guessing more than one.

Even if they were able to prove it, it probably won't hurt society. The Christian religions will spin it to fit them and many won't believe it even if they were able to provide irrefutable proof.
