Sulphites !!! 220 and 221 maybe more ??
yes definitely and you could be reactive to yeasts as well ..
Sulphites are in heaps of things ,apart from being the main preservative in wine and sparkling wine .... Try the non preservative variety of wine its worth it if you want to drink the stuff otherwise vodka is recommended as the least allergenic form of alcohol
Beware of dried fruit ,being one of the main culprits . muesli bars . breakfast cereals with dried fruit I have also found that I cannot drink any juice that has grape included , or eat grapes as they are commonly dusted with sulphur to prevent fungal attack during their cultivation I react to sulphur drugs badly , penicillin and others are sulphur based ... Even Epsom salts is Magnesium Sulphate
Look for things that support your liver metabolism

Alcohol is a byproduct of all kinds of grains, yeasts, fruits and even vegetables! A byproduct is something that is 'left over'. When we consume alcohol our bodies temperature will actually rise (fever) while we are metabolizing it. You could be allergic to the alcohol its self or perhaps something the alcohol was made from. You say it manifest its self in your skin... and rightly so, because it is the largest organ and the fastest way to get it out of your system. Your body is telling you something and it is good that you have paid attention. Gauge your reaction to alcohol in the future. If it is a true allergy then it could get worse or it could go away. Allergies can be as mild as a headache or they could cause you to swell up and stop breathing so be careful.

The liver is causing the rash by trying to process the alcohol...the alcohol is creating too much heat for the liver....the liver is giving you a warning that it doesn't like the alcohol....I would pay attention to what the liver is saying for when the liver rebels there is stomach problems, heart burns, headaches, ringing in the ears, dizziness and the emotion is anger.

I agree with Starrwood, its the sulphites. Sulphites are used to preserve food and beverages. However, they are also the rotten little beasties that cause us to have vile hangovers the next day or, as you've discovered, break out in itchy lumpy rashes all over !! Hot spots are usually on your legs near your knees and near the tops of your thighs or in the crook of your elbow or on your throat. All the really warm and irritable places. I'm also allergic to sulphites. I need to avoid dried fruit such as sultanas, apples and apricots cos they are all preserved with sulphites !!!
PEACE

Sounds like alcoholic flush. Although it is most common in Asians, it can be found in all races.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Flush_Disease
The also mention: "Degreaser's flush -- a flushing condition arising from consuming alcohol shortly before or during inhalation of trichloroethylene (TCE), an organic solvent with suspected carcinogenic properties."
