Technically, an organism that feeds off of another organism while contributing nothing to the host is a parasite. Naturally people would remove a parasite.
So, isn't an unborn child a parasite?
First of all, I am pro-life. I just want to find out why people believe the way they do. I am pro life because of the potential every organism, no matter how developed, has in its continued existence.
Anyway, what do you believe? Also, I undersand the "A woman has the right to do what she wants with her body" thing, but shouldn't she have to be responsible for her decisions, and is ending a life really an appropirate way to maintain autonomy?
Oh, and I believe that raped women should carry offspring of such relation to term and give them up for adoption instead of aborting them.

Men, Like women, can have opinions about things that are none of their damn business. And I, for one, have never raped anyone, so I think I'm entitled to think whatever I want. If I was a rapist, I think I would understand your objection to me voicing my opinion

If you were to define the unborn child as a parasite, you would also have to apply the same term to young born children. For at least the first year of life, born babies are completely dependent on their parents. Left alone, they will die, and one could argue they contribute nothing to their "host."

so, because you have personally never raped a woman, that gives you more authortiy on expressing your feelings about what she should do? I cannot believe you even stated that!
It's none of your business what she does with her body, you are not the one who has to bear the emotional and physical scars, you are not the one who has to see a baby growing inside her for 40 weeks that has half the genes of the "real" parasite that defiled her in the worst imaginable way
When you have been raped and are in that position, then I'll be happy to listen to your opinions.
Adoption is a complicated process, and also, what if that baby grew up into a person, and found out they were the product of a rape? That their flesh and blood father, was a rapist! That they share the genes of a rapist!
I don't think you've really given this much thought to be honest.
I'm against abortions, but I would never tell another woman what she should or shouldnt do with her body

Abortion is nothing more than an elective medical procedure that a woman can CHOOSE to have. The moralistic crap that surrounds the issue, politically, is a polarizing arguement, used to keep people from looking too closely at what the politicians are doing while everyone else is fighting about this.
The government doesn't believe that a fetus is a child, either...if they did you'd recieve a tax break at conception, not birth.
The fetus becomes a child when it can survive outside of the womb, with minimal medical assistance.
If you want people to make educated decisions, petition the federal government to stop supporting and funding abstinence only education.
For the record, the bible itself states that an infant isn't considered a person until it's one month of age...

Unborn is a Human unborn Not a parasite. Abortion is wrong because it kills an innocent human being, besides it's cruel.
I, however, agree with you on this that if a woman doesn't want an offspring that's conceived from a cruel act, than there shouldn't be any objection in giving the baby for adoption.

We destroy lives all the time. We eat meat, we cut down trees, we pick weeds. There's no way to avoid killing, and no reason a human life is any different from any other except arrogance.
Pain should be a consideration but clearly fetuses feel no pain and aren't aware, that's why you don't remember your own birth. If someone did something horribly painful to you just after you were born would you even realise it was happening enough to remember? No, because you aren't conscious yet and only feel pain the way your character on the Sims feels pain.
(By the way the woman's right to not have another use her body for sustenance is a much more complicated argument... It's like, if a random person needed to hook themselves up to you with a feeding tube for nine months or else they'd die... It would be nice if you allowed them too, but you wouldn't be obliged to give up that time for them, the same way you aren't obliged to give up anything of your own to benefit someone else. The same reason you don't have to donate a kidney even if someone will die without it. Do you have any extra money lying around that you could be using to save a homeless person's life? Did you spend money on the computer you're now using instead of saving lives with that money? Then you shouldn't condemn abortion.)

I "know" that I have a murdered baby that is now part of a bio hazard garbage dump outside of atlanta. I "know" that I was given no say in this decision even though I would have gladly paid for everything and been happy to raise the child alone. I "know" that someone I loved dearly seemed to think it better to murder a child than to let me raise it alone.
What the heck does belief have to do with anything.

A fetus can contribute nothing to society. If you're going to have a human come out of you you better be prepared to raise it, and if not you are better off hitting "reset" and waiting for a more appropriate time. Children sent to adoption rarely live satisfying lives and there are so many children up for adoption that most of them never get to see a real family.
Anyway, I like how you think it's so easy to be pregnant and give birth. Yeah, I got raped but I'm going to lug around his child everywhere 3/4 of a year. Let's see YOU carry around someone else's act of domination for 9 months, everyday being reminded what happened that one night.

Abortion is a personal decision and none of of your's or anyone else's business.
BTW, I wonder how any man could dare to express an opinion on what a woman should do when she has been raped.

There is a huge difference between a baby conceived, and a parasite.A baby is human.
And the whole thing about it being the woman's body is fine, except it's not just her body-there's a little baby who has no say in the matter.

I accept the scientific fact that a person's life begins at fertilization, and I believe that no person should be deprived of life without due process of law, and that no person should be denied equal protection of the laws.
