It is hard to address people publicly. I'm saying this because you really don't have to be in public to have a hard time talking to people during a meeting or a conference. If it is the subject matter that concerns you and makes you shy, then do your research on the subject to the point that you feel confident about what you are going to talk about. Study to the point where you feel that you would be able to debate the subject if anyone challenges you. If your just shy. well then you've got to get over it by trying what I suggested. You can also imagine that you are only talking to yourself and any questions that may come up from participants you can imagine that you are asking yourself that question. Another thing that has worked for me and also other people is to imagine that everyone is naked or imagine that everyone is dressed as a clown, or that everyone came to the meeting dressed for Halloween on the wrong day of the Halloween party.
