I asked a similar question, and almost everyone said TELEX was the best after DC of course.I am a student pilot.
I'm now looking at the
-TELEX Echelon20 (http://www.marvgolden.com/headsets/echelon20.htm)

-LIGHTSPEED Solo
(http://www.marvgolden.com/headsets/lssoloc.htm)

-PELTOR Nordica sport (http://www.marvgolden.com/headsets/peltornordica.htm)

If any of you pilots have had either of them, or can give me any advice or information on them it would be most appreciated!
Thank you.

I have used a light weight Telex for many years. It's nothing more than a very small boom mike and an ear bud, those in combination and attached to a chrome band over the top of my head. I put it on the left ear, leaving my right open to conversation from my right seater or whoever. I have been well satisfied with the unit and have used it for a little over 20 years.

Its all preference really,

I am rough on my gear doing a lot of aerobatics so I buy whats on sale and comfortable, Gel seals are a must,

I have had $300 david clarks crap out in 1 season, and also had a $120 avcomm thats still in one of my helmets after years.

Telex are very nice.

I never found a place for those ANR headsets, I like to hear the engine and the wind.

Its all about what is comfortable for you!.

oh yeah, Bose are WAY over rated, and not compatable with a LOT of older intercoms,

Try out some different ones and pick your favorite.

I agree with the poster above, all of the headsets that you mentioned are good - but you will find as you get further into your training it really is all preference. I would speak with your flight instructor and see what they suggest. You may be able to find a local pilot shop that will let you try out the different types, before you make the final purchase.

Good luck and hope this helps!

I have a lightspeed, and I cannot say enough good things about it. It's comfortable, the sound quality is excellent, and the price wasn't too bad either. I'd buy another one in a second.
