This would have been a terrific fight. Both are outstanding boxers and I believe that they are also about equal in the power department so I see this as a very even fight. The only difference I see is that De La Hoya probably has the better chin. Early in the fight I believe that Norris would take it to De La Hoya and win probably 5 of the first 7 rounds but in round 8 De La Hoya fires a left hook out of nowhere which sends Norris to the canvas. This puts Norris in a defensive survival mode and De La Hoya wins 3 straight rounds pretty much evening up the fight. I n round 11 Norris regains his composure and again takes ithe fight to De La Hoya who gets rocked in this round. The last round has both men going all out with many crisp exchanges. The bout ends in a draw with a rematch being discussed. Great fight and great question.

Not really because De La Hoya was had a better amatuer background and that is the reason the guys accross the water are winning all these belts, they had great amatuer backgrounds plus terry Norris wasn't a big puncher.I beat Simon Brown and he K.O.'d Norris with a jab and to me,he didn't punch all that hard!

Many tremendous solutions already. i think that Leonard is the in effortless words logical winner the following, he became an excellent at 147lbs while De la Hoya became very reliable. you should claim that De la Hoya lost to each and each tremendous fighter he confronted, notwithstanding he turned right into a media darling like Leonard earlier him so he has a tendency to get particularly puffed up. Leonard would have too a lot in all parts for De la Hoya and win by late stoppage over a bloody and over matched De la Hoya. Leonard TKO12.

Lady Vette ~
In my opinion, this would not be a very good fight for Oscar, Terry's overall punching power would be the biggest difference in this fight. Terry was masterful in cutting off the ring, so when Oscar figured out that Terry hit way to hard getting on his bicycle, like he did against Trinidad, it wouldn't help.
I'm a Del La Hoya fan, but Terry's demolition of Donald Curry and Maurice Blocker are all the proof one needs to know that he could box as well as punch. Terry never stopped hitting the body at any point during the fight and as we all know Oscar does not like taking shots to the body, so much so that over the past 10 years his cup (foul protector) has inched it's way up his midsection, he now wears a cup that most fighters wear during training to protect themselves from body blows.
Oscars biggest weapon is the left hook and Oscar does have speed but Oscar was not faster the Ray Leonard, even when Ray was out of his prime and Terry caught Ray. Oscar would land the left hook on Terry's questionable chin early, but the shortest distance between two points is a straight line and Terry's straight right hand will land before Oscar mean left hook.
Terry batters Oscar and stops him late in the 7th round, by the way this is what round Oscar is going to stop Floyd.
Thanks for the question Lovely Lady Vette.

I pick Norris in what would be deemed an upset. I think Norris is the faster boxer. He beats De La Hoya by a split decision.

terry norris has a glass jaw and one punch from de la hoya would put norris on his back. norris was overrated and got title shots and preference because he came from a boxing family just like mayweather who is also a runner and a hugger. oscar will take out the kid w/a steady jab and a hard right in the later rounds to knock him out.
