We are going there for 6-7 days in a couple of weeks. How is the weather there in mid March? I would like to go snorkeling, but do I have to be a good swimmer? I know how to swim in a pool, but the ocean is different story. What are some other activities we can do? How is Luau? Please let me know about the activities we should not miss! Thanks in advance :)

anything and everything - watch the sun rise on haleakala (it is cold so bring a jacket if you plan to go to haleakala), drive the road to hanna to the black sand beaches, visit the 7 pools and hike through the bamboo forrest, snorkel or scuba dive (be care full not to go with a large group - I went with one and you could not swim more than 10 feet without running into another person - also, the fins make it easy - if you can swim in the pool you will be OK). Check out Lahaina -that is were all the restaurants. and shops are. Some of the more expensive things to do, but worth it if you can afford it, are deep sea fish and day sailing (the views of the island are amazing from a sail boat). I am jealous - have fun.

March can still be rainy... snorkeling will be fine even if you can't swim, they'll give you some floatation device to help you and of course the guides will keep a close watch on you. You'll be too busy enjoying the scenery to worry about being a poor swimmer. Snorkeling is best at Molokini.

If you do nothing else take the drive to Hana and stop by the 7 Sacred Pools. Do the zipline, ride down the volcano on a bicycle, watch the sunrise at Haleakala. Go parasailing, rent a kayak over at Lanai and surf the tiny waves, be careful of the coral it's razor sharp.

The Old Lahaina Luau is great, we loved the show they put on and the food was ono (delicious).

Maui is amazing - you are going to have a wonderful time!

We did quite a bit of researching before going there last June. We had a great time and I would recommend everything that we tried!

The best luau: http://www.oldlahainaluau.com/
(Awesome dancers!)

The best snorkeling: http://www.mauicharters.com/
(Captain John is the best!) You don't have to be too experienced. They take you out to the Molokini crater (about a 45 minute boat ride) and you snorkel on the calm side of the crater. It's very smooth there. We saw a ton of fish, an eel and a baby shark!

The best road trip: The Road to Hana
This is an all day trip so pack a lunch and wear your bathing suit!
The best guide for this was our guidebook "Maui Revealed - The Ultimate Guide to Maui"
http://www.wizardpub.com/

The best entertainment: www.warrenandannabelles.com/
Warren and Annabelle Magic Show, kinda cheesy but still amazing!

Best Shopping: www.whalersvillage.com/
Lots of nice shops

Best Beach: Kaanapali
Go by the Sheraton Black Rock around dusk to see the cliff divers - very cool!

Best Resturant: www.lahainagrill.com
David Paul's... kinda spendy but worth it!

Check out Lahaina during the day for some people watching.

Have fun!
Aloha!

Maui is a warm beautiful island...snorkeling is frustrating and not safe if you are not a very comfortable swimmer...I say relax...relax...relax...if you run from one thing to the next and do do do..you will miss the beauty and relaxation...go to the beach and pool...go to the libraries..they are very friendly...watch sunset of course...listen to the birds...stay sober and thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the place...meet the people...go to upcountry and drive around...the little winery up there is really neat and the wine tasting is good...you will still stay sober...enjoy the views...go to Wailea and watch the rich people...just enjoy
