Tell him your doctor told you to lay off the high fat foods because your cholesterol was going up. I can't imagine your boss would argue with your doctor's advice. I read an article at the hospital about trans fats last week. Trans fats are lethal and should be avoided completely. Also, beware that foods that say they are trans-fat free are usually not, because the FDA allows them to say that if there is less than a certain percentage of trans fat in the food. So if on the label it says, "Partially hydrogenated" anything..... it has trans fat in it.
You could also just tell your boss you eat a huge breakfast every morning before coming to work and if you ate anything else, you'd be in the bathroom all day and not get any work done. :)

Honesty is the best policy. If he asks, simply say that you avoid donuts. I had a similar situation with the donuts, except that I eat no meat, fish, or eggs. When asked, I said, "Oh, they look so delicious, but I don't eat food that contains eggs or meat products. Thank you so much for offering, though". The next day, the boss brought in the donuts, and some bagels, so that I could enjoy with everyone. From then on, she brought either raisen bread, or bagels, or some other food that I could also eat. Pretty soon, people were eating those things instead of the donuts!

Be polite, but stand up for what you believe... Say something like..
"Lately I have been doing some research on having a healthy heart, and what I found is there is all this information on this stuff called trans fats.... Trans fats are worse than regular fats, cuz they block up your arteries, and eventually kill you! I have been experimenting with other options for morning snacks."
You might even start bringing in your own morning snacks, and if anyone asks you, offer some to them. You might be surprised, you could start something new!
I love doughnuts, but I only have them on a blue moon....

I can't see why he would care whether you eat the donuts or not, but if he asks you, you can simply say that you try to avoid foods that are high in trans fat. It's the truth, and trans fat is very well-known these days.

Why would anyone ask that? Doughnuts are a food that many people just don't eat. But if he does, just say, "Oh, I don't usually do doughnuts. When it's my turn to bring in breakfast I'll bring in some rice cakes. haha, just kidding!"

Just say you're trying to eat healthy. I think anyone would agree doughnuts aren't the healthiest thing in the world, and certainly not meant to be eaten on a daily basis.

Maybe he doesn't realize how much trans-fat is in them and how dangerous it is. Just tell him you are trying to eat healthier and bring yourself in some fruit. Maybe he will get the picture.

Tell him politely that donuts do not agree with your diet... remember he (and others in the office) have a right to buy and eat whatever he want. Or just tell him, Donuts don't agree with your stomach!

Of course you tell your boss that you don't want to eat dougnuts. It's perfectly alright to say straight away instead of not eating. Atleast he will safe money for 1.
