Italy is a peninsula located in the south east of Europe, in the Mediterranean region. In the north-west, it borders on France; at north it borders on Switzerland and Austria; and in the north-east, it borders on Slovenia. Most of the country is enclosed by sea. The Ligurian Sea, the Sardinian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea border the country on the west; the Sicilian Sea and the Ionian Sea surround the south coast and the Adriatic Sea bathes the east coast of the country.
The two principal ranges of mountains in the country are the Alps and the Apennines. The highest peaks in the Alps are Monte Bianco, Monte Rosa, and Cervino. The Alps constitutes a natural border that separates Italy from France, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland. The Vesuvius and other active volcanoes can be found in the Alps. Sicilia and Sardegna are the main islands in the country. And the Tremiti Islands, the Tuscan Archipelago, the Pontine Islands are some of the principal archipelagos in Italy.

Basically just the Mediterranean Sea is surrounding Italy.
The other seas names (Tirreno, Ligure, Jonio, Adriatico, etc.) are identifying different areas of the Mediterranean sea but they are not 'indipendent' seas; all of them are a part of the same sea, the Mediterranean.
