These cars are near junk, not from high speed use but constant engine use moving or not. Maintenance by most departments is notoriously bad in an effort to keep the cars on the road 24/7. The only exception is a Shift commanders car, it was more of a personal sedan type-there are FEW of these around. The only thing worse is a Taxi cab

I still own a 1989 Dodge Diplomat police car which I bought directly from the police department in 1992. At that time, there was no problem with locating Diplomat/Gran Fury/ LeBaron special police parts in local junk yards. However, since then most examples are picked over or recycled. Considering the large number of these vehicles manufactured between 1981 and 1989 for police and taxi use, I think there are still sources out there. You might try the web site of the Police Car Owners Of America http://www.policecarowners.com/ (I am a member). Someone in this club knows the answer to your question. Also the Emergency Vehicle club at http://www.evooa.org should also be a good resource. Best wishes!

generally anything you find is going to be almost worn out on it,so beware if you buy one of them ,they didn't receive the best maintenance in the world, and usually have more running hours on them than actual miles, but anything that old is going to be worn out pretty much, good luck,i hope this help,s.
