Sounds like you should stay at home with your germs. I doubt the rest of the team would be happy to get what you have.

If you are as 'really really ill' as you say you are then I doubt if you would be feeling up to playing hockey.

If you do decide to go then be aware that putting in all that effort when the body is fighting an infection could use up all your defences and make you seriously ill.

If it were me i wouldnt go. Your health is THE most important thing you have.

However, if you only have little sniffles then you might as well go.

Think of your team mates....don't pass your germs on to them otherwise they"ll have the same dilemma next week. Stay home and nurse yourself better. You'll feel much better tucked up at home with a box of tissues and a hot drink than running down a cold field with snot flying hither and yon gasping for breath. Not a pretty sight.

Get your gym knickers on and your pleated hockey skirt and get out there girl and have a good sweat.
Viruses are very weak when it comes to changes in body temperature and a good sweat on the hockey pitch will have you feeling better in no time.
Have a great game and I hope you win and are feeling better soon.

If it is really important to you about half an hour before you go take some paracetamol or beechams, get a Vick inhaler and you should be OK to play. Or if you really feel sorry for yourself, phone in sick and wrap yourself up in bed.

probably safest to call in sick as you won't give your best performance and they may have time to ask someone else who would like to play. You can't run if you have a chesty cough, anyway

sounds to me very much like this flu bug that's going round. I've had it, everyone I know's had it. You need to rest up and get well, don't be spreading it around.
