I am really stuck for ideas. I have very nice triangular shaped favor boxes that I am tying with personalized ribbon. They sure look nice on the outside, the problem is, what to put in them. I had really wanted personalized M&M's but they don't ship to Canada. I want something classy and chocolate(I think). Oh I don't know. Do you have any suggestion?

That stinks about the M&Ms. Do you know anyone in America that you could send them to and they could in turn overnight them to you up there? I have ordered and recieved them before and they are packaged really well, they wont melt or be damaged, so the extra shipping time wont cause any effect on them. I would go that route, if you know anyone in America.

Otherwise, Lindt chocolates are great, you can even get them wrapped in coordinating colors to your wedding. Hershey kisses are always great too.

I have to strongly disagree with what the poster above me wrote. I think its quite the opposite actually. People are leaning more and more towards the edible favor and away from something non-edible because its become the realization that alot of times the item is thrown away,(how many times have you recieved a candle and tossed it, why would your wedding guests be any different than you were?) thus you have wasted you money. With something edible, someone will eat it, thus your money isnt winding up in the garbage.

Good luck

You could go to a candy shop and buy candies that are the same colors as your scheme. I'm sure you can find hard candies that would work, or get Jelly Belly's, mints, etc. It's fun and different.

Another idea is to find a local company that makes some sort of food item that they may be famous for. It could be chips, candies, chocolates, cookies, beer or wine. It helps promote local businesses, is probably cheaper, and adds a local touch that everyone will appreciate.

Is this for a wedding? If so, you can never go wrong with after dinner mints. Or for an awh effect, a chocolate rose or flower of some sort. Check around locally, and see what sort of elaborate chocolates they have. Good Luck!

So many people have allergies so are afraid to even touch chocolate in case it's from a shop that may have some nut oil present. Same problem goes with candied almonds. For this reason many brides are going away from edibles altogether and fill their give-aways with candles or wine stoppers . I've seen note paper shaped like wedding cakes and personalized pens with bride and groom names and date. If you are buying in bulk (100 or more) you can get crystal little things at a very low price - like heart paperweights. I have also seen brides bake heart-shaped sugar cookies and put 2 or 3 in their boxes, iced with white and the color theme. Always attach a note saying they're nut-free, though!! Some brides buy inexpensive clear votives (.99) and write their names on them with silver pens, then pop in a couple of unscented candles - in color theme. If you have your heart set on chocolate, go on the web and look for chocolateirs in the city you reside. Purdy's, Callebaut, they all do special orders. There is a wholesaler in Edmonton that ships to Canada and the US who makes large chocolate bars, medium bars, and even mini-bars with your wedding date and names on the wrappers. Very reasonable, too. Yahoo search "Canada listings: chocolates for weddings". Good luck.

I second the personalised Hershey's Kisses, but I'd go with Hershey's Hugs because the white chocolate/milk chocolate mix is so yummy!

Chocolate Kisses or Hearts would be your best bet... edible items are best if you are going to have favors. Favors that are not immediately edible are often a waste of money, as they are forgotten. Congrats on your upcoming day. :)
