Caribbean islands... Curacao to be more specific. It's a completaly different place then all the others islands.

It depends on what type of vacation you like. Quiet and relaxing. Lots of activties. Lots of nightlife etc. We have a vacation rental on the beach on the island of Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos. I have traveled there for 20 years and still love it but it is quiet. There are only a handful of restuarants and not much nightlife. For me I love the quiet, laid-back "Old World" feel of Grand Turk but someone else might prefer parasailing, casinos, lots of shopping etc and wouldn't like Grand Turk at all. Providenciales is the more well known of the Turks and Caicos Islands and many people love it there. It's not for me---tooFloridaish, I prefer Grand Turk with its antique architecture and narrow wall lined streets. I have more description of Grand Turk and some pictures of the island on my web site.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Espcially the Grenadines, where they do have several all inclusive resorts.
Lovely white sands, beautiful water, lovely islanders.
And you can go to the main island, for black sands, pine forests, jungle, volcanos, hotsprings and rocky pools.
Lovely.
But then I'm biased.

Go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina if you want to get away from a lot of the commercial stuff.
Cape Hatteras is beautiful anytime of the year!

I was there for my birthday last year and to surprise my boyfriend and people I know, except the family I was living with there. I was celebrating it with a friend from there -- we share same birthday. :)

Why not try Palau, which is world-famous for its diving grounds. It's not in the Carribean, but you can give it a try.
