can somebody tell me what is inside a CO2 scrubber.?

Question

I know that in ethanol fermentation, this scrubber removes unwanted water and ethanol vapor in the carbon dioxide stream. can somebody tell me what material can be used inside it. do we use packings. the only clue i have is that the scrubber also uses water.
