This is a question that every one will have a different answer to. In my opinion, for everyday commuting, a used car is going to be the best choice. You don't want to add miles to a newer car so I would look for perhaps a mid-90's. You didn't indicate your budget, but lets assume you want to stay under $8,000 (That's USD, sorry) I would highly reccomend a Honda Civic or a VW Jetta. They both get excellent gas mileage and maintnance costs are reasonable. If you want a truck, for for an older Ford Ranger, or if you are in the market for an SUV, look for a used Toyota four runner. I hope this helps :)

In the Canadian auto market? I'm not sure what you mean by that .
Toyota all the way!! I have a 2004 Camry. I would buy a Corolla if I were you. They are less expensive than the Camry . I like them better, as they are a bit more sporty. Go Japanese all the way. You wil not have any problems!
My Dad was a German car dealer in the states for 35 years. When he retired and it was time for me to buy a new car....he said buy a Toyota. My old Jetta was in the shop every few months for service and they are expensive cars to fix.
Since 2004, I've not had to take my car in for service other than the usual required maintenance. I get excellent gas mileage, they are very comfortable vehicles to drive, and the price is right.

Mini is magnificent yet I hate BMW. i visit't see previous my Subaru WRX. The AWD is outstanding to have in any climate and the turbocharged engine is a blast to force. I were given my 06 new for only a hair over 20 so via you may now really hit upon a fantastic low mileage 06 or 07 for far less. Plus I were given the wagon so I easily have plenty area in decrease back for tenting and whatnot and the coverage is more low priced than the sedan. If I had to make certain something new for 20 then i'd evaluate a VW GTI yet I listen some horror memories about their reliability. i'd quite have a marginally used Subaru then something else new.

I've been commuting in my Toyota Corolla for over 12 years through weather or all sorts. Its been from Detroit to St John's Newfoundland and guess what I had to replace the start last year. Other than that, changed the oil, tires and maintained the fluids - thats it. Over 600,000kms on it and she runs smooth as ever. Mid 90s Toyotas and Hondas can;t be beat - so durable but without all the computers that can wear out and give you worrysome warnings. I've just recently experienced a problem with my gasline but again its been through harsh Cape Breton winters

Reliable, dependable, comfortable, economical, with good tunes and air conditioning.
I've owned many vehicles and had great luck with all.
My favorite was 1963 Karmen Ghia convertible, then 1986 Chevrolet El Camino, 1980 Mazda RX7 was fun too. I now commute in a 1974 Chevy Nova. Every vehicle received preventive maintenance, and regular oil changes. I believe this attributed to getting to work-and- home trouble free.

there are alot of good cars for commuting- mazda, honda, nissan, hyundai. Do you want new or used. How much do you want to spend. spend someday going to the different dealers and give the cars a test-drive. Since you will be driving the car it should be something you like.
