The use of corn to produce energy causes pressure on the supply of corn for other uses such as for food. This in turn result in rise in food cost$.

There is one point that has not been considered. Not all corn is used for human food consumption. There is a difference in the corn crops. It would depend on what was being used, and on the honesty of the food producers. If the Ethanol producers were using corn intended for animal feed, and the left over mash was sold as animal feed, while there would be an impact, it would not be as great. It does depend on the honesty of the food producers to properly report what grains are going where and what is truly being affected.

Answer: At least 2,500 items use corn in some form during the production or processing.
