Jacopo Sannazaro or Sannazzaro (1458 - April 27, 1530) was a Neapolitan poet, humanist and epigrammist.

He wrote easily in Latin, in Italian and Napuletano, but is best remembered for his humanist classic Arcadia a masterwork that illustrated the possibilities of poetical prose in Italian and instituted the themes of Arcadia in European literature: see the theme Et In Arcadia Ego. Sannazaro's elegant style was the inspiration for much courtly literature of the 16th century, including Sir Philip Sydney's Arcadia.
