Added sugars are a problem when you are trying to lose weight. They provide calories, but nothing in the way of other nutrients.

With fruits and veggies, they contain sugars naturally, but they also contain a host of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and phytochemicals. All the 'good for you' nutrients. The more the better!!

Did you realize that the form of energy that your body burns is a sugar?

Sounds to me like you are taking the right approach, although what about dairy products?

I do not think veggies are bad for D but some fruits should be limited. Like bananas,Some fruits are very high in naturals sugars. I think the best to eat when you want to lose weight are berries like strawberries blueberries and so on. Fresh meat does not have sugar and that includes chicken.

Fruits are more sugar than veggies, and of course meats and eggs have none.
Everyone needs some carbs for energy but like everything else . . . too much / or out of balance is bad .
The problem with sugar is that people tend to go way overboard . Just keep it reasonable , you do need carbs !
