Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. If I sat down and wrote "This God talking. Blah blah blah." and then I went somewhere and claimed it was the word of god, would every1 believe it because they coudln't prove otherwise? This makes no sense.
People's problems are that they are not really sure if the bible is or not, so they choose to follow it/believe it just in case. Just to be on the safe side, so they don't go to Hell. This is the best way to effectively control a group of people, kinda like cult leaders do...keep em in line with fear.

Its all about faith. If you have faith in God then you will believe the Bible is the Word of God handed down to man. I believe in the God of the King JAmes Bible but evenn I have a few problems. For instance there are some scrolls (not the Dead Sea scrols) that were found in 1947 that allegedly has More actual quotes from Jesus. The vatican has supressed this and I'd like to know why. This data could reveal things about the Life and Times of Jesus. The vatican is the main reason I dont practice being a catholic like my mother would like. In my opinion the vatican holds more secrets than the pentagon. There is another thing I think about and that is How many translations from ancient Hebrew has the Bible undergone. I t seems reasonable to me that something would have gotten lost over the years. For all we know KIng James himself might have beeen plastered and chose what he thought was important (thats what my mother believes anyway. But just because you cant prove something doesnt necessarily mean something is not what it claims to be.
I cannot prove the existance of the planet pluto. I have never seen it, never talked to anybody that has been there, I cant touch it see it or have any connection to it other than what I have seen in books and tv. For all I know Pluto is a myth. BUT I accept on faith that pluto has been in fact discovered and does indeed exist. I know that was a whimsical view but surely you get my meaning. here ya go: have you loved someone that has died? If so, can you prove it? Of course not. I would take your word for it but nothing you could do or say would actually prove it.
faith is believing in something that just cant be prove beyond a shadow of a doubt

This reasoning is not sound. No one seemed to be able to prove that OJ Simpson killed two people, but does that mean he didn't? The question you should ask is, "If you CAN prove that a book IS the word of God, should you believe it?" What is the proof? Prophecy in the bible that was fulfilled centuries later. No other book can boast that accomplishment. Also, there are verses in the bible that coincide with later scientific findings, such as the fact that the Earth is round (Isaiah 40:22). As late as the 15th century, people believed the earth was flat, even though the bible indicated it was round. How could the bible writers have known this unless it was revealed to them by God?

It's definitely a circular answer.
Look at it from all aspects. Read it through. Start with something to help you, like a tract or something, and read the verses that it shows you. Then read the accusations against the Bible. Then look at the passages in the Bible for yourself. Then read the commentaries on that passage.
Will you find loopholes? Typos? Even *gasp* mistakes? Yes.
But what's the end result? I still believe the Bible. All signs have pointed to God's love. What you find may be different. Just keep doing research until there's absolutely no way you can be wrong.

You cant prove that the quran, dhammapada, the bible or "war and peace " are the word of God until you can prove the existence of God in the first place. Even many scientific principles cant be proven. This is whyy to know something is of God is for that person to know God in a mystical way first, in other words, if you have not had an experience of "divinity " in some meta physical way then you will be hardpressed to accept any written testament to the existence of divinity itself.

Firstly, the book should be proven to come from the sources it claims to come from. Additionally, the one who wrote it/spoke it should have at least claimed it to be the word of God. Thirdly, there should be some information known about who it came from, such as their trustworthiness and character.
As for the old testament, it has obviously been changed, and has had numerous additions and subtractions since it first was written. This can be proven quite obviously by the dead sea scrolls, which show that missing parts in it, as well as parts arranged differently. Additionally there is hardly anything known about th epeople who transmitted the old testament, their trustworthniess, their memory, etc. and besides the dead sea scrolls, the earliest record of the old testament is from the 11th century.
As for the new testament, it is mainly the work of four unknown men, and it was only later that its origins, and its status as "God's word" were attributed to it.
As for the Qur'an there has never been any disagreement about who it came from , its preservation, and its status as God's word. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) claimed it be the word of God from the very beginning. So if you are going to believe in a book to be from God, believing in the Qur'an would be a start.
"Or say they: "He has invented a lie against Allah?" If Allah willed, He could have sealed your heart (so that you forget all that you know of the Quran). And Allah wipes out falsehood, and establishes the truth (Islam) by His Word (this Qur'an). Verily, He knows well what (the secrets) are in the breasts (of mankind). [Qur'an 42:24]

Seeing is not the same as believing. Have you ever heard someone say I can't believe what I just saw? It's the same the other way around. Just because you can't prove something or haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not true or doesn't exist. Most of religion is based in faith.

faith on my own works in simple terms besides with the different magical creature. There must be a "reason" and not in simple terms given which you sense like it while you are trying to be rational. right this is a sturdy occasion, we've never chanced on alien existence, yet existence on earth is evidence that existence can exist in this universe. This piece of evidence isn't evidence that different existence does certainly exist, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it supplies us a rational reason to suspect it does. on the same time as technically i do no longer think of there is this variety of evidence for something supernatural, which comprise Gods, yet that would not quit believers from attempting to apply what they decide directly to be evidence. meaning that they do no longer choose to easily take it on faith, additionally they choose a rational reason to have faith their specific God is actual. I evaluate this a solid subject, otherwise they could fairly be blind sheep that in simple terms save on with and never question.

I see your point, but you can not disprove the Bible.
If you really want some one to prove that try going to www.massagee.org he knows more about the bible than anyone I know.
But as for me no one could ever disprove the Bible as far as I am concerned, but I do not have a closed mind ether.

No one has proven Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was not written by God so that is why I sleep with it under my pillow.
And remember always, "Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it." (Dumbledore 12:15)
