Hi. I am curious (and so is my daughter) about geneology and the fact that I am adopted. I know my birthmother but the rest is unknown. How can I find out the rest (ie: father's side)?

One of the problems of single motherhood and adoptions is that the roots of heritage are often lost. If you can not get the father's name and identification, you can't trace them by any magic method. In some cases, the mother doesn't know who the father was among several men or a forgotten night. You may have to begin your own history. It is bad enough tracing people you know a bunch about - I have a great aunt that I can't find a birthday for because of how she lived her long life and the lack of records in that state when she was born.
