Both are 16 ounce containers. Homestyle potato salad and macaroni salad. Both have very similar ingredients, are made the same way, same brand and for the most part are the same thing. Potato salad is $2.29 for the 16 oz. and macaroni is $1.89 for the 16 oz. Both are normal price with no discount.

There's more time and labor involved in boiling, peeling and cutting the potatoes into bite-size chunks. Noodles require only about 10 to 12 mins. to boil while potatoes require at least 5X that--depending on the size and type of potato used. Also, potatoes are more expensive per pound than a bag or box of noodles--I think.

Because potatoes have to be skinned, cut and takes longer to boil. More macaroni can be made in the time potatoes have to be prepared and boiled.

I'm guessing cuz potatoes cost more than macaroni noodles but I'm not sure

It takes less seasonings to bring macaroni to tastiness than potatoes. and way less mayonaisse if any.

Because they can charge more, they do. Potato salad is simply more popular.
