Bible says, Woman cannot even speak in Church.
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)

Bible says, woman is inferior to man.
"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (I Corinthians 11:3)

"For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (I Corinthians 11:8-9)

There is no specific directive of the Shari`ah that prohibits a woman from leading prayers. Therefore, we cannot say that Islam prohibits a woman from leading prayers.

The matter actually relates to the general practice of the Prophet (pbuh), which was subsequently followed by the Muslim leaders that followed the Prophet (pbuh). This practice of the Prophet (pbuh) as well as the Muslim leaders, who followed him, subsequently became a part of the social traditions of the Muslims. Thus, it is not a directive of the Shari`ah, but a part of the Muslim cultural tradition that men, rather than women should lead prayers. This gender-based distinction, it seems, has its basis on a few important facts.

For instance, although the Prophet (pbuh) encouraged Muslim women to come to the mosques to offer their obligatory prayers with the congregation, yet it was not as strong a directive for them, as it was for the Muslim men. The nature and the variance of the Prophet (pbuh)'s directive has generally resulted in a lower number of Muslim women being present in mosques, as compared to men. In many places, women are not even seen (even in lower numbers) in mosques. Thus, especially when the over whelming majority of people present in mosques consists of men, it was natural that a man was appointed as the Imam to lead the prayers.

Moreover, because the Imam holds a central position in the mosque and naturally becomes the center of attention for all those who are present, it seemed a better decision that a man, rather than a woman, be appointed for this position. We obviously do not have any control over the thoughts and emotions of all those present in the mosque. Thus, to keep the minds clear of any sexual thoughts, especially in the mosques, it was felt more appropriate to appoint a man as the Imam.

These are a few of the points that have played a role in the general acceptance of this socio-cultural tradition among the Muslims. The matter, as I have stated earlier does not pertain to any prohibition of the Shari`ah.

Imagine this situation. You are a Muslim and you are following a woman in prayers who is leading the prayers. What will you do in this situation ? Whom will you have in the mind, God or the woman ?

Do you get the point now ? Think before you ask.

In Islam, women are not objects of desire. They are respected beings equal to men. It is not Islam that subjugates women. It is western culture that exploits women in the name of freedom and equality and considers them as sex machines.

In Islam men and women have different roles because they are different and have different qualities from each other. In Islam women are as important as men, and Islam gives women more rights than men, for instance men are required to give dowry money what ever she desires on marrige; and it is a great sin to make women do something that's not within her limits, men are responsible to provide food, clothes, and housing for women and so on. God made man more physically suitable for outside works while women, in Islam, are highly recommended to help inside because God made women more emotionally and supportivly suitable for inside housework.

God made men leader of the family in Islam. That does not mean men are more superior than women, it means there must be a leader in the family in order for it to function effectively. For example, just like a company needs a supervisor or a managor in order for it to work properly and effectively, a human family also needs a leader/ a manager ( In Islam, a leader is also a survant of his people, in other words he listens, answers and tries to resolve the issues of his people).

Women can lead women prayers in mosques and Men can lead men prayers in mosques. If it were other way around, than the family leadership would be affected negatively, other problems will arise, and there are also other reasons. Another reason is that when muslims pray they go in prostration and bow, if the member of opposite gender is in front of men or women it could lead to negative or bad thoughts instead of worshipping God, and it is also forbidden for men to look at women's sensitive parts and vice versa.

I hope I was clear enough in answering your Why.

Note: I do not think my other faithful brother read Quran carefully enough; Quran not only talk about Marry(a.s.) but it also talks about Eve (a.s.), Asiya (a.s.) and Ibraheim's wife (a.s.), Bibi Fatima (a.s.) [prophet Muhammad's (p.b.u.h) daughter] and about many other great women.

women in islam are unclean, half-brained seductresses. The only woman mentioned in the Koran is Mary, the mother of Jesus. Women will only get to heaven if a man vouches for them and she will be a sex slave there. Women are sexually strong in Islam, and evrything about them causes men to sin. So their voices, hair, skin, everything about them is forbidden. How could she talk in a mosque or be looked at during prayers (so she shoudl pray in the back of the mosque or pray at home). Why any woman would ever want to be a muslim, I don't konw. there's nothing in it for her.
