If it is because they dont go when should. Try making them go to the potty every couple of hours. If they are doiing it on purpose, explain to them its not right and give them a time out. If they arent doing it on purpose, call their doctor.

First of all has anything changed in the home , because sometimes kids start to wet themselves when big changes occur in the home, My daughter is going through that right now. no I wouldnt put them in time out it could also be a way of them getting attention maybe they feel like they want more attention. The best thing to do is to sit them down and talk to them find out why they are doing it, Also you might think about taking them to the doctors it could be a infection and or a bladder problem. but getting angry is just gonna make the problem worse. best luck to you hang in there it will get better.

Urinating on themselves while on the toilet or just in their undies while running around?
I found it very odd that my potty-trained since 18m (now 3yo) daughter suddenly started urinating on herself while on the potty - as if she were urinating straight forward instead of down into the toilet. I taught her to close her legs and lean forward instead of leaning back in a "reclining" type position as little kids are wont to do.
If it's while just in their undies running around, the 3yo might be a little young to understand. You're ahead of the game as apparently some 3yo's aren't even potty-trained. A 5yo should be aware enough and understand that it's not good to do and time-out should be an appropriate reaction, while when they do go on the potty, a small reward (I made a sticker poster for the wall for each of my girls) for positive reinforcement might work well.
If you suspect that they can't control it, I would speak with their pediatrician/doctor. The only reason I personally know of is my cousin had a hard time with urinary tract infections when she was around that age and that was what happened to her. At approximately age 6, she almost had to be re-potty trained because of the problems.
Good luck!

Dont get angry at them. The last thing they need is to be confused about where they stand in your life and love...over peepee no less. They're just babies for goodness sake! Try asking them to use the potty ever few hours. Lots of kids that have high stress problems lose bladder control especially if someone is hurting them. Ask your girls what's going on let them know they can trust you by not being so harsh about everything.

Maybe they can't control it, so you should ask your doctor. I have two nephews that were 6 and 8 and they were wetting themselves at night and sometimes during the day. My sister let their doctor know and the were put on medication to help with the problem, they just have really weak bladders. Ask your doctor instead of getting upset with them, it may not be their fault.

Difficult to say with so little information.
I would have a doctor help you rule out any physical or organic causes for their trouble. If there aren't any, I would look at emotional issues. Divorce, violence, abuse, etc. Don't be so quick to dismiss these as causes. Emotional upheaval often contributes to wetting.
Encourage their success. But do not punish them. It's a sensitive issue.

I believe it's about time to potty train them - in a fun way. There are cute little videos and songs to help them to see the relevance of using the potty. This link might help. You moght want to read the reviews made on each item.

The animated ones are also great and would be good for the 3 year old.

How can they pee on themselves? Are they peeing there undies? The five yr old should know how to pee on her own. Do you still have to wipe them after they are done going 1 and 2?

Is this sudden behavior? As in, they have been potty trained for some time and now suddenly are starting this?
