If you have tried morphine and methadone and oxycontin, is oxycontin better than MSContin because oxycontin is the slow release version of oxycodone and MSContin the slow release of morpine and isn't morphine supposed to be on top in benefits of pain relief like the best? Or do you feel its best to rotate. Oxycontin is the one thing I haven't tried. I use muscle relaxers too. A combo or cocktail usually works the best for me.

Oxycontin works best for me, but everyone is different. Doctors call a combo of drugs a cocktail as well, so don;t let people call you an addict if you genuinely need these drugs. Morphine doesn't work best for everyone. For me, it only makes me overly emotional and mean and doesn't do much for the pain, but Oxycontin works wonders. Some pain docs like to rotate the meds they give their patients to minimize tolerance. Follow your doctors orders to the letter and work with him to find the best combination of meds that gives you the most relief with the fewest side effects.

Best to ask your doctor his opinion. Also, I know that there are pain management specialists out there. My neighbor attended a several week thing at Stanford and became an expert as they predicted..... also learned how to get away from pain by going to a "place in his mind." I hope that your pain goes away.

If you are getting all these from your doctor change doctors ,just you calling it a cocktail suggests that you are not using them for therapeutic purposes though.

Why are you taking these meds? Don't know what to suggest until I know your symptoms.
