I totally agree with exercise and being kind to your body. A good exercise for love handles is to sit in the sit-up position, and as you are slowly coming up to do a sit-up, turn your torso slightly to the left, then turn back to the normal, straight sit-up position as you are coming down. Do as many sets as you like on both the left and right sides. That should help tone your oblique muscles, or <3 handles. Good luck! =)

It's one of those thing that's tough to do. I once had 3% body fat and still had little love handles. The only thing anyone can do to diet is to take in less calories and exercise more. Specific exercises (seen on tv) for "targeting" areas will not burn fat in that specific area but will put more muscle in that area. Fat is distributed all over the body when there is a calorie excess and taken off from all areas when there is a caloric deficit.

Learn to accept yourself at a healthy weight, those models you see on tv and magazines are either genetic (and that will change with age) or plastic surgery nuts.

Don't go crazy about diets, or pills or anything. Just cut the junk food, drink water, eat fruits and vegetables, do moderate exercise. Work to be healthier, not to look like fake models.
