Not quite convinced he existed. So no reason to hate something that doesn't exist. Why, do you hate Zeus? Is that why you don't worship him?

I bet there were so many guys names Jesus back then, it was a popular name. He might have been a real guy that people decided to torture because he was talking a bunch of craziness that he was God's messenger and stuff. People were barbaric back then, and Crucifixion was common. I don't believe that people can be buried and then rise from death again, but Jesus may have just been a normal guy that thought he was some type of special messenger, and then people decided to write some great novel called the bible and include an extravagantly embellished story about a man named Jesus.

I dont despise Jesus. I admire the way the Bible says he lived. Minus the preaching obviously. I dont believe in God, but I think living with love and peace and respect for others is a wonderful thing. I admire anyone who lives that way, Jesus, Ghandi, the Buddha, etc etc.
So, no, I dont despise Jesus at all. (If he even existed in the first place, because some people have their doubts)

Who cares what atheists believe?
If people choose not to think there is a God that made the heaven and the earth and human kind and the animals in the sea and on dry land.....so be it...they will find out.
Atheists are not a religion and have no business being part of the conversation with Christians in the religious answers.

I am an atheist. I really don't feel anything about jesus of nazareth. I don't even know if he really existed, given the lack of contemporaneous records that support that existence. I have learned that the romans of that era were anal about keeping records.
I think that some of the teachings attributable to this jesus are right on, and others are way off. I think that the reports (gospels) of his alleged teachings are purposefully vague to allow for many interpretations in order to gain maximum followers.

That's silly to think that we would despise Jesus. There's hardly enough evidence around that he actually existed to make him worth the trouble. And anyone who wants to believe in him has my blessing.
However, don't presume that because you believe in Jesus that you have the right to impose your laws on the rest of us. Make whatever rules you want regarding membership in your church. But the laws of the country should never inflict punishment for things that are only against the rules if you happen to believe in the same way as Christians (or Muslims, or Jews, or Hindus, etc.).

I don't. I know plenty of mean spirited, fire and brimstone christians that speak of him as some crazy murdering jew ready to send you to damnation. I hear some speak of him as the prince of peace and is forgiving, a healer, tolerant, unconditional love, etc. If he died for our sins it didn't help because we are still sinners, right? I feel he is an urban myth.

They do not feel anything about Him for they do not believe God exists. Jesus was a historical person, some might think that His teachings were good, they just do not believe He is God.

He was born, he died and in between the two he may have said or done some important things. Since his death many others have done some things in his name which are very questionable.
