Thank you for the great answers/comments. Hard to pick a best answer with all these good answers although I disagree with the one stating that celebrities or rich people get on top of the list. I am not rich or famous and I got my heart transplant 6 years ago. And it saved my life. Again thanks for all your contributions.

When I was seven, my brother was killed. At the hospital, my parents signed a release to donate his organs. His liver and parts of his eyes were used. Now, I like to think that somewhere, my brother's body is helping someone to live, to see. That's why I am an organ donor.

Yes, I have marked my driver's license as a potential donor, so no, I am not a donor at this time. But with all the people that are on waiting lists for organs to become available and knowing how that would change their lives dramatically it seems like a good thing to do. Some people claim that there are religious objections to being a donor, but every major religion has no problem with organ donation and see it as a ethical thing to do.

By the way, I almost didn't read your question because you have a capital letter to start each word. It's very distracting!

Yes I am an Organ Donor. I made my choice for a few reasons; I have been sick for 6 years and some where done the road it is a possibliity that i may need a liver transplant and I figured if someone can give me the gift of life i shoud toand i know how it feels to be sick and if i can give someone else the gift of life when mine has come to an end that just adds more meaning to my life. Also as weird as it sounds i am afraid of being buried alive so with my organs out there is not way I am alive. And well lets face it i wont be using it so some one else can!

I'm totally an organ donor. I figure, even if I get hit by a semi, I'll probably still have a couple of usable parts. What can I say, I'm into recycling. I mean, I'm in good health, I sure as heck won't need a perfectly good set of corneas or my liver once I'm dead, so why not give someone else a better life? I don't think the body after death is meaningful at all. I don't think if I get creamated I'll go to Heaven as a pile of ashes. I believe God created my body and it should be put to it's highest use, just like all of His other creations.

I am an organ donor, what sometimes is refered to as 'full' organ donation, which mean i elect to have ANY part of my body that may be used to help better or save someones life can be used, but i will not elect to have my body donated for science, I want my body to be distributed to who needs them most.. . .

I have always felt like I needed to be an organ donor, but the reason why I actually went down and got it changed on my drivers lisence is I has this recurring dream when i was younger that I had some heart defect and that I needed a new heart Then a donor had died and I got the heart, and I could literally feel that heart beating within my chest. It felt so real, and in my dream I lived because someone was so thoughless of themselves, that they had given it to me

yes I am an organ donor..... If I can help prolong even one life by donating an organ the bring it on....dead or alive...If I could help someone in need I would. I personally believe that to be my human legacy. The recipient won't know who I am or was, but that doesn't matter. I'd know that I did whatever I could to help some one in need. Not to justify my existence but to sustain theirs.

I am, and proud of it. My little sister is alive because someone donated kidneys. I can't imagine life without her, so if I go, I want to be able to save someone elses life.
