I would like to make backup copies but these files are over 4 GB but i've seen that people have shrunken their files to like a 10% of that size. Please don't say zip it b/c that's not what i'm asking for LOL.

If you want to backup a commercial dvd, you will need a dvd decrypter to rip it before shrinking it down. Everything you need to is this program here http://www.ripit4me.org/ >>>>>Make sure you read all the guides and faqs. This program is real easy to use and it can and will backup any dvds you have. Oh, did i mention that it's also FREE too.

U need to first rip the dvd and save the ripped video in your hard disk.
And then u can shrink it using Ashanpoo movie shrink which decreases quality also... or u can use divx... or any video converter which u can searchon the net..

You can shrink with nero recode, dvd shrink, shrink to 5, and dvd fab decrypter platinum just to name a few. My personal favorite for a quick one step copy is dvd fab decrypter platinum. If your looking for a way to do it all with free programs, use dvd decrypter, and dvd shrink. burn it with whatever burn software you have.
