get the child to the doctor asap. make sure that there are no medical reasons. it could be the child is not able to control his/her bladder -enuresis.
if physical causes are ruled out, then the doctor can refer your child to a counselor. it is often a symptom of stress.
berating and shaming your child will make the situation worse regardless of the cause. put on your Understanding Parent hat.

The first thing that you need to do is talk to your child. Make sure that he is not going through something stressful at school or anything like that. A common finding in kids who have a lot of stress in their lives is that they wet the bed until a late age.
I know that there are medications that can be prescribed short term that help build bladder strength as they sleep, eventually getting them to the point where they can hold it all night and not wet the bed. Once the bladder is trained, the medicine is discontinued. You may want to ask your pediatrician about this.

You cannot stop him from wetting the bed. You do need to take him to the doc to be sure there is no medical cause for the bedwetting but other wise he justs needs to outgrow it. Not all bladders are fully developed at the same age.

Limit liquid intake prior to bed. i would say at least 2 hrs. Have him go to the bathroom right before he hits the sack. for awhile you should wake him up every 4 hrs to go to the bathroom. i know that sounds like alot, but it really helped my nephew. Until than he could wear pull ups that are made for kids that age and maybe put a plastic sheet on his bed. if it continues than you might want to take him to see a doc. there could be an underline problem.
