Dear Faith I would love to answer that question but I'd rather say this. It's best for you to overcome your depression rather than convincing someone that you are depressed. Doesn't it make since to solve a problem rather than convincing someone that you have one. Now here are some questions to ask yourself; What is causing this depression? When did these feelings of depression begin? What makes it worse? What seems to make me feel better? If you know what caused it and what makes it worse then it may be possible for you to avoid them. Have joy *Faith* it's a choice that is not based on what's happening. So have joy.

i think everyone else has the right idea, you can also try going to www.webmd.com, and then type in depression,a big list of stuff pops up have your parents read it and tell them that you are felling these symptoms, some times it helps when the parents see it from professional sources,i hope that helps, what ever you do though even if it doesn't help, make shore you don't wait for them, there really is so much help out there for you.

Maybe you could go to the national institue of Mental health or something closely related and get printed information for them. People who havent ever really dealt with depression or trauma dont know how to react to or what to say to the people who do experiance it. Depression is a disease not something made up. Most of the depression cases are due to lack of chemicals in your brain . Talk to people who have experiance in it, and learn to deal with it with yourself inside and how to cope then proceed to try and get your family to understand.

Hi there, even if your parents did believe you, there's nothing they could do about it other than taking you to a counsellor. Just remember, happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have, it depends solely on what you think. Life is too short, so enjoy it while you still can. I know that's old grandma's sayings, but they are oh-so-true. SO be happy and enjoy life!
