Breastfeeding definitely helps. Exercise - include at least 30mins of cardio 3-5 times per week, and strength training (together this helps burn fat and develop muscle that will continue to burn fat). Also try to eat frequent small meals, rather than 3 large meals (don't wait until your starving to eat). Be sure to get in breakfast, drink lots of water, cut down or eliminate soft drinks, juices, coffee, sweets etc.

For me it was hard to get to the gym with small children and the weather is not always good for walking so I invested in a few workout DVDs and it fits perfectly into our schedule and works great.

Wish you the best!

I'm still trying to lose 5 stubborn pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I lost a lot of weight right after I had my baby (18 months ago) because I breastfed and went for a walk with her when the weather was nice. Right now its kind of hard to do any real exercise (besides cleaning) because it's winter and I dont like to take my daughter outside when its really cold. But as soon as the weathers nice again I plan to be outside a lot more with her. She loves going to the park and being pushed on the swings. I'm pretty confident that I'll lose that 5 pounds over the summer as my activity will greatly increase.
Also, if you can, go to the gym. My sister lost 14 pounds and an inch and a half off her waist after going to the gym for just over a month. She went almost every day though. And she hasnt had any kids yet but still 14 pounds! That's pretty impressive.

Breastfeeding is the best way to loose weight naturally. I have a 6 month old baby girl. She's still breastfed and I am back to my normal clothes. Walking helps too. If you have time for yourself, treat yourself to a gym membership and go for 1/2 - 1 hour and do cardio or light sculpting. I find that an exercise ball helps alot. I work with an exercise ball everyday for balance and strenthening my body. Good luck.

I know that you want to speed up the progress, but to loose weight and correctly takes time. Especially if you don't want the pounds to come back on you. Remember it took at least nine months to gain the extra weight. Just keep doing what you are doing, eat lots of fruits, veggies and fiber. Drink plenty of water and try to get in plenty of exercise. Try not to over do it. Believe me it will come off. I gained over 40lbs with my daughter and it took me about 8 months to loose it all. It has been over 2 years and I haven't gain a pound back. Good luck.

Honestly, your doctor may not agree with this, but it worked WONDERS for me...wrap your stomach (think homemade girdle but safer)! Now you're gonna need some help from somebody. Take a bed sheet, however long as you need it. Cut it so that its mayby a foot, foot and a half in width. Hold it under your boobs and let it go down to your hips (witdth wise not length wise). Have someone else take the remainder of the sheet and wrap it around your stomach like a mummy, as tight as is COMFORTABLE for you (dont suffocate yourself). Now wear that around the house, under your clothes (if not too bulky) when you leave, and conitnue with your normal diet and excersise routine. I have a six year old and have had a stomach like Janet Jackson since he was an infant...it works!

You are on the right track if you are breastfeeding. Also take baby for a walk in pram everyday (Its kinda like pushing a mower) and that will get fat off you and bubby will love it. Also dont eat the naughty food but you probably already knew that.

The easiest way to lose weight is to exercise, and eat right. There are lots of exercises you can even do with your baby.
