The other day in P.E we were doing suicides and I got super thirsty. I went to get a drink and began to feel weird. I got nauseas, started to shake, I was weak, ect. The nurse checked my blood sugar and it was 87, 80 is normal.
I was reading about the symptoms of hypoglycemia and I have quite a few of them especially that day. Should I get a test or am I worrying for nothing?

My Family Has a history of diabeties.
The nurse tested my sugar said it was a little low and gave me fruit juice and some penut butter crackers. I felt better for a while then got a slight headache. Nothing much more than that.

No, you should get a complete glucose test to check for diabetes- call your family doctor and insist on a follow up...your symptoms are classic hypoglycemic symptoms-

Yes get a test. But you have to fast for 36 hours. Your doctor will tell you how to do this. I was diagnosed with high reactive hypoglycemia 5 years ago after three years of unexplained seizures. ever since the diagnosis, i can control my blood sugar now and havent had a seizure since. You'll have to eat every two to three hours and really thats not so bad. I have had four kids and I'm the same size I was in highschool 132 and 5'8 so its like being on an eating all the time diet. TH bad news is you wont be able to drink liquor it will effect you like a bomb, licking the glass of one shot makes me immediately pass out. Anyways definatley get the test. Its really simple and it only cost me like 35$ without insurance and it changed my life to know. Better than gettin shakey, moody, headaches, and passing out and undergoing years of unecessary tests. Rule this out first. Good luck

There are many symptoms of hypoglycemia including tiredness, hunger, diziness fatigue. the best thing to do is try changing your diet for a few days to see how you feel. Cut out sugars and junk found such as chips and chocolate. Eat vegetables, good quality meats and fish. Also lay off fruits and fruit juice for a while. Then see how you feel.

If your sugar was higher than normal, wouldn't you be hyperclycemic? It means diabetes.
My father was hypo glycemic. He needed to eat at regular times in a day, or he'd start sweating and faint. He carried grape sugar pills with him at all times. He was never thirsty.
Thirst is also a sign of diabetes.
Since you were excersising you could've been over exereted,
which can cause thirst and nausea.
Whatever it is go to your doc and get a check up just to be on the safe side.

I would go to the doctor just to be on the safe side. It does sound like hypoglycemia-did it go away when you ate something. But you should see a doctor. Also those blood glucose monitors need to be calibrated properly, so if it was not, you could have gotten an inacurrate reading. (or if you ate in between your episode and seeing the nurse, this would also elevate glucose)

You do not need a test as your blood sugar was normal. You were most likely dehydrated from all of he exercise especially if it had been a while since you had food and something to drink. Normal blood sugar is 70-110 so yours was fine.

Actually, 80-120 is normal. If you are experiencing some other symptoms, though, go to the doc for a complete physical and maybe your doc can shed some light! Good luck!
