To get rid of split ends, take a small section of your hair and carefully twist it gently in a downward motion. When you do this, the split ends will automatically stick out. Carefully snip into the twist with sharp scissors. Carefully remove the split ends; this will give your hair a natural layered effect. Try to cut about the same amount of hair. Cutting your hair is the best way of getting rid of split ends. It is the simplest and least expensive method to remove split ends.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off. The hair on your head is dead so once it split there is no way to repair it. It will just continue to split all the way up.
The best thing to do if your hair has slit all the way up the shaft is to cut it off. The way to prevent this from happening is to avoid intense heat like excessive blow drying and hot irons. Treat your hair gently and try not to brush it alot. Using a wide tooth comb is also good because it is less damaging.

To treat split ends, first trim off the ends of your hair to an even length. Use all the nourishing applications described in the earlier chapter for your hair. Avoid back-combing or use of spiky rollers. You could also use these other nourishing tonic applications for your hair.Take half a cup of curd. Add to this a table spoon full of honey. Mix well. Apply on scalp and hair strands and hair ends. After 20 minutes wash with water. See a remarkable change in the sheen and smoothness of your hair. For more details see

Winter is very harsh for our hair.
The only way to get rid of split ends is to have your hair trimmed once a month by a beautician.
Comb your hair when you are showering and apply a remoisturizing conditioner and leave it on for three minutes. Comb it out under warm water and pat to dry with a towel Do not jumble your hair when drying with a towel. It will make your hair tangle. Blow dry with a warm hair dryer, using your fingers as a comb and finish with a ball tipped brush for softer hair.

im a stylist... and if trimming it hasnt worked...(because i have the same problem) i wonder if you do lots of damaging things? i straighten my hair almost everyday, and thats where my splits come from. trimming gets RID of them, but since they come back, you'll need a PROFESSIONAL product... something you get from a salon, not from target. i recommend Redken Extreme Anti-Snap. Its a protein base you put in your hair before blow drying (or just after getting out of the shower) its safe to use a few times a week.

don't brush too hard, and get your hair trimmed regularly every day anyhow. if it's REALLY bad, use a leave in conditioner.
