when we were young, the best one yet and the only one I was in love with, no one has ever treated me like that, but. Some years ago we try again, and he gave me the worst pain from any one I ever knew. We see each other as friends, as we have done after the first parting. This is hard, I still love him but I don't like him .

Ignore him. You can never go back. The first time it was great, good for you. The second time he gave you the worst pain ever. Treasure the good memories, but if the second times not a charm why try for number 3?

If you don't like him.. then stay away from him! Honestly.. think about it.. would you really want to spend the rest of your life with someone you don't like at all?
I love my hubby.. and 90% of the time I like him.. the 10% that I don't are moment's in time.. not days.. not weeks.. etc... just moments.. I may not like something he says.. or the way he says something.. BUT I know he didn't mean it the way he said it... and normally I call him on it.. then again.. he does me also... we've been married for 20 yrs... Can you see yourself with this person in 5 yr.... 10???
It's not possible to have a succesful relationhip with someone you don't enjoy being around.

You should stick with your feelings and be straight up and let that friendship go. Just think about it, if he put you through pain then he's not worth being with. I'm sure you'll find someone who will top how he used to treat you.... trust me move on!!!

if you feel that pain with him then you need to be honest with him
and tell him this. this back and forth is not good for you, so
honestly is the best things. time to move on.
