The best way to stop smoking is to stop cold and never start again. Cutting down slowly is an excuse to prolong the end result and makes no difference.
Start a hobby that keeps you busy or occupied, like painting or some sport.
I am proud of you for trying, it's not easy to stop and it takes a lot of effort and will power.
I always said, if I can go 24 hours without a cigarette then I can go a week without a smoke and if I can go a week without smoking then I can go for a year without smoking. That helped a lot.
Good luck!

Let it go, if you keep this up. Then your going t have to have a voice box implanted inside yout throat and u cant talk anymore and they have to cut inside ur throat too, watch this commerical where this guy is telling you, "oh you wont always die from smoking", "you'll just have to cut open ur throat because u have lung cancer from smoking" and you'll catch on quickly or try Nixcoderm.
Or think of how you got into smoking, its like peer presure, if u ttry to quit, your giving into peer persure because u know u need a smoke badly but you always have to say no no matter what and if ur a lady, yes, its a bad habit and nasty. Also, when you get a chance, buy some sunflower seeds, they help a lot, i read that in a magazine

You could just chew regular peppermint gum to help fight the craving, or you when you are having like an anxiety attack type thing, you just take deep breaths and tell yourself that you don't need a cigarette to calm you down, everything is ok. It could be hard :D But I think if you put your mind to it you can do it!

just don't have cigarettes within reach of u... and u might wanna try to do some exercising in place of smoking.. that might motivate u more to stop smoking if u feel yourself breathing hard while doing that. but other than the patch or the gum, its just mind over matter. if u really wanna do it, u can do it!!!
good luck!!!!!!

those things rarely ever work. They're there
1. To keep the cigarette companies from being sued
2. For buisnesses to make money
Every time you crave for one, think of the results of what will happen. Put up pictures of lung cancer and heart disease, and anti-smoking pictures. Also, I know this is weird, but it worked for my teacher: roll up a piece of paper into the size of a cigarette and pretend to smoke it.
Good luck! I know you can do it!

Well my dad was a smoker, he passed away last year in April. the other 50% was because of a heart attack.
What is a fact about smoking that it makes you smell nasty and its unattractive.
Keep busy with anything that takes up your time with hobbies or reading. Do sports. It makes you look old fast and you become ugly sooner than you'll realize.

I'm going thru the samething. I've been cigarette free for 3 days and what i've been doing is using peppermint candies and then i kiss my g/f (whom hates the smell of smoke) when I can't eat a candy. When the g/f isn't around I put myself in the position where I can't just smoke. living in CA it is easier cause you can't smoke inside a public place.
Hope this helps

First of all, well done on realising that you need to quit! Now, you just need to know how...well, one step is to get people to support you, like family, friends, partners etc. then i think that you need to join some kind of quitting group, and if you're too embarrased to go, do it online. Sorry i couldnt be more help, but i am only 13!

My Dad used english mints. Go for a walk...without money in case you pass a store. Try to stop thinking about it, try a different thought. Do a 1500 piece puzzle. Knit. Go take a shower. Something, anything. Don't give in...you can do it!

go on zyban (bupropion). this is also marketed as wellbutrin and in higher dosages works as an antidepressant. what it does though, is increases dopamine levels, and thus blocks the addictive center in the brain. bupropion helps with virtually all addictions, including food. i dont currently take it but took it in the past for depression and stopped my cravings when i used to suffer from addictive food behaviors. this is a perscription drug, so don't just run out to target looking for it. good luck.
