This hair looks like unwashed straw. It grows thicker nearer the scalp and thins out towards the ends, thus causing split ends. Atmospheric pollution too tends to have a drying effect on the hair. Such hair needs extra care. The is nothing as nourishing as a warm oil massage. Take half a cup of coconut oil. Crush 4 almonds and add to oil. Steam this mixture by placing it inside a pan. Apply while still warm, deep into the scalp and into the roots of your hair. Cover your head with a towel and leave it on for half an hour. Shampoo your hair. For more details see,

I am curious as to why this started recently. Have you changed your diet or the haircare products you normally use or have you started swimming in chlorinated pools?

I find that Treseme hair products are really good. It's also great if you give your hair a monthly treatment - vitamin E based treatments are great for putting moisture and shine back in.

If your hair is long enough, a hair straigthener (with ceremic plates only) will work wonders as well and make your hair truely shine!

take cold showers or run your hair under cold water. this causes the hair to grow and help protect you hair with the hot water creating the split ends, washing away your hairs natural oils(this creates the shineness), and causing frizzyness.

Use Pantene shampoo and conditioner with cold water. It makes your hair smooth and soft.
or
buy a professional (Ceramic) hair straightener "Cortex." It makes ur hair straight, shiny and soft. I have done that. It is simple and works well=)
