Best ... If you think things are unsafe now, wait until you see what happens if the military actually WERE dismantled.
However, I tend to think you've misspoken or very badly mistaken. I say this because I suspect that you close and lock the front door of your home as you leave it to go to work each day. Have you considered what might happen if you didn't lock your home? And the same would happen to your country, which ever country it is. If there's anything worth taking, others will just march right in and help themselves. Make sense?

First, your bias is obvious in the question itself. Either we accept an "unsafe" military, or we dismantle it....what? How about supporting and maintaining a strong national defense? Boy it's obvious you've never put your life on the line for others. But I have. Think about that. I was willing to die for the very freedom that allows you to offend me so deeply.
Second, next time ask a question without such poor grammar. Don't make us decode it, and keep the same tense (as in, present tense, past, or future). The question was so poorly written it required re-reading, and remains ambiguous.

Don't even think your country can take credit for Bush's mistake. Our former Defense Secretary is the one that dismantled our military to the point where we could be invaded by Mexicans--and not be able to stop it. The legacy of being the President that actually made the world a more dangerous place goes to Bush not Blair.
Damn Brits--LOL

No, because it doesn't. But liberals do make us unsafe as a nation so lets dismantle them!

Of course there will be retaliatory attacks that result from the war, but should we forsake the possibility of no attacks at all just to spare us from the inevitable??

Yes if liberals have their way we will. Just hold hands and sing your way out of trouble. By the way, that link was to the worst news spot I've ever seen, the bias was obvious even across the vast Atlantic...
