a Kong.
Hard rubber and bouncy, plus a little slot to put treats in that he has to work to get to. :)

(I posted this a week ago for someone who needed strong toys for their Staffy. Since Pit Bulls are notorious for chewing and destroying, I figure this might help your dog too.)
Chew ropes - Are alright as long as they are really STRONG. We one of the larger braided ropes and my pit somehow unbraided it and started eating the strings so we had to confiscate it. I reccomend the Booda Super Tug - You can play tug with your dogs or let your dogs play tug with each other. It's a healthy way to exercise your pooch. This tug is also machine washable so it doesn't get all funky and leave your carpet stinking like dog slobber
Real bones (not chicken bones)- Are good. My brother brings home big beef bones from his work and they last pretty long and dogs love em. But just don't boil them cuz they'll break apart and they can choke.
Galileo Bone - One of the strongest dog toys made. I recommend this one, that is, if you can get over the shape........
Bully sticks - This is a smoked, dried bull's penis (really, I swear!). Since Bully sticks are muscle, they do digest and will not break off in chunks like rawhide. My dogs love these things. They are a little pricey, but can be gotten for a decent price at dog shows or pet expos.
The Almost Indestructible Ball - It's quite big. Dogs will drive themselves crazy trying to get it into their mouth. But it will wear them out and last a very long time.
The Kevlar Frisbee - If there was one toy I would highly recommend this would be the toy. Durable as toys come, great fun, and can be used just about anywhere the Kevlar frisbee is a perfect Pit Bull toy.
Rawhide - This is one thing my dogs are NOT allowed to have. If a chunk of rawhide is torn off and swallowed, it will not digest and can block a dog's intestines.

Depends on how big and how strong your dog is, and also how hard they play. The rope toys seem to last a long time but can unravel. Kongs last a long time. There are also certain toys made for teething puppies. They are usually really sturdy and made of all rubber or soft plastic, these seem to last a long time since they are made to be chewed on.

I would reccomend a Kong ball but i have no guarantees. My lab was able to rip that apart within a few hours. I have found that THICK rope toys work the best as they can't rip them. But you will find pieces of string scattered about. And some dogs to get bored of them within a day.

There is the kong that you can fill with peanut butter and freeze it and that will last a while, then there is the Nylabone Knots that are excellent, because my two labs have yet to chew it down to nothing, and then there is the standard rubber tire for dogs. Iw ould stick with the Kong or the Nylabone, I have never went wrong sticking with Nylabone!

Nylabone's (hard not flexible) have always been the key for my dogs, which are lab's and rotti's. If he is big the nyla-ring is good too. If he is a hard heavy chewer the Kong's are good but mine prefer the bones. Don't waste your money on the rope toys unless your dog is little. Rawhide is not good for them, so don't get that.

The Kong toys are very durable and seem to last my dog forever (bought one 1 1/2 ago, it's his favorite toy and it's still in great condition!)

I really like the nylabones, they hold up very well with big, strong dogs. Kong's are great as well. Fill it with some treats and peanut butter and a dog will work on it quite a while.

Ok when I had my "dogs" all working dogs sheep/cattle property in australia I gave them footballs and basket balls, they loved them BUT stilled destroyed them, just took longer, as for the fur round the house a good grooming each week also lets you bond (haha) and see if dog has ticks cuts ect.
So enjoy your best friend (thay dont stab u in the back) and be happy...... woof wooof to dog
