Macs are nice but so is this price. Macs have nice graphics and work nice for music, photo and video editing but a PC will do for your average computer user plus you don't have to mess with anyone not supporting your PC. Keep the PC

A Mac is a Macintosh - an Apple computer. See http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore for details. Macs are a different hardware platform and run a different operating system, OS X. Some people prefer Macs to the Windows OS, but it does have its drawbacks. First, you'd have to buy a Mac. Macs are about 50% more expensive than comparable PCs. Next, you'd have to learn the Mac OS and buy all new applications. If you're having trouble adjusting to Vista then you'll probably have the same problems adjusting to a Mac, since Vista looks similar to the Mac OS. Many people find Macs easier to use than PCs. While I agree that they are easier to use, and plan to get one myself, there's still a steep learning curve involved.

If you're rich and money is no object, maybe this is a solution for you. For the moment I'd say stick with your PC until it dies or needs to be replaced, and during that period read up on the Mac OS. Look at some Macs in stores and decide if it appeals to you. When your PC dies, decide if you want to buy a Mac or get another Windows machine.

Here's some info on Macs and their OS:

Stick with the HP. A mac is overpriced and a Linux knockoff to boot. I just took a G-3 apart, and it had an IDE cable 3 feet long. Super engineering.

Macs are gay because all of their crap is proprietary. Also, your probably used to using windows, in which case, just keep the PC. If you switch to Mac, you will have to use Mac OS, which is more similar to linux than windows I believe. I heard something about windows on Mac recently, but im not sure if its true, and if it is, if its available yet.
