SOUNDS LIKE A DAMAGED OR TRAPPED NERVE IN YOUR FINGER

This could be trigger finger. This is where the sheath around the tendons in the finger or palm start to narrow and the tendon is like a knot that goes through the sheath. If you having to bend it back with the other hand and it is painful it could be this. I have had it in two fingers and both thumbs. It is very painful. They can give a cortisone shot around the sheath and it helps but eventually surgery is required to open up the sheath, I have had that done too.

I am not giving medical advice just suggesting this is one thing that could be happening. I would check with your orthopedic dr for further examination. And review website concerning this kind of pain such as:

Yes, it sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome, or a similar type nerve entrapment. Need to see a neurologist for specific diagnoses. Just had my second CST release surgery last week.

Do you have arthritis cause it could be deforming. It could be a tendon and they can inject that. It won't do any good to force it. Your body is stronger than you. If its gonna happen its gonna happen or youre just flippin us off I laugh and say that because I have arthritis and my middle finger is the most deformed and the one that gets all the stupid jokes like this one.

if you cannot put an injury to your pain, then you have a problem with a nerve. it could be a carpal tunnel type impingement. see a doctor for a MRI. treat with heat/ice, advil or alleve, and rest.

It's carpal tunnel! I have it, and I'm only typing with my left hand.

Do some hand exercises. http://www.eatonhand.com/hw/ctexercise.htm

I massage my hand with Burt's Bees Hand Salve. I know it smells like Bengay with lavender, but it does warm my hand with a cooling effect.

If your hand gets worst, please see your doctor. If not taken cared of, you can lose function of that hand and lose the ability of using or functioning with it.

Also, follow Cat's advise above.
