I can't verify the relationship between technology and abasence of God. Actually I will have to refute it. I am a chemical engineer by trade, neck deep in science and technology all day long, and God took time to speak to me. Or should I say I took time to recognise his presence. It was years ago but unforgettable.
I believe God talks to as many, or more people than ever. He knows there are definitely more of us to talk to now than ever... I think your confusion may come from your sources of information. Don't look for God on TV, or in the newspaper, or in Church for that matter.
If you want to find God you have to look in your heart. I don't mean your boold pump, or your romantic center. I mean you have to look in a place where nothing physical matters in the least. When you find that place, you will find all the answers.

I don't believe that God is making fewer appearances, I think people just don't take the time to look. Anyone who takes the time to view a sunrise or sunset over a lake, or hikes though hardwoods in autumn or sees the wonder in a child's eyes as they learn a new reality, can see the hand of God at work.

Jesus of course being God in the flesh said, that He must go away but that He would come back.
He specifically said that He would send a helper, the Holy Spirit so that those who are born again would have a comfortor and a teacher to reveal deep mysteries of God's word. He Himself could only be in one place at one time, but the spirit is omnipresent. It is better to have the spirit present at this time until His return. But He will definitly return and every eye will see Him. He is waiting for His biggest public appearance.

Because Pisces is not in the sky at New Year's, which is now in January, the new First House; just as Amen-Ra was the primary god when Aries was in the sky at the New Year's from around 2000bc, as well as Rama, the ram god in India, & the tale of the Golden Fleece! There was a reason alot of priests were also astronomers/astrologers, it told them how to find their Deity.

please tell me when He did appear and to whom?
Jesus was here 2000 yrs ago. Next time He appears in person will be the last. For all of us.
Maybe we see God less because we are ignoring Him and concentrating on technology and science. God never leaves us, it's us that leaves Him.
I see God often. We talk to each other on a daily basis. I see Him in nature and in the eyes of children and I hear Him in my son's laughter. I am looking for Him all the time and "pow" He always there.

In the Bible, right before Jesus ascends into heaven, he tells the disciples that he will send the Holy Spirit to be with them. And that he'll come back to Earth physically someday.
You don't see God in person, but you can see what he's doing and what he's done. Like the wind. Can't see it. But it's right there. Something technology will never best.

The strain of the fame just got to be too much, so he decided to take a break. I hear he's planning on a come back soon, though. A real show with explosions, and a battle scene and the hero saving the day and lucky fans getting to go back out with God. He's headlining with Jesus Christ, Superstar.

Those who aren't seeking him don't often see him. Don't worry the day is coming when God will make the ultimate appearance, and on that day Every Knee Shall Bow.

God is an industry. Statues of the Virgin Mary crying olive oil converts about 3 million heathens to Catholicism on each individual global coverage of the 'phenomena'.

that's because it's all about faith. God tends to make more personal appearances lately. and really, do you honestly believe if people saw God's face in the middle of the sky they'd say "It's God!"?
they'd say "aliens!" or "I need a psychiatrist" or "the end is near, run for your lives!", or maybe "Aaaaaah!", but it wouldn't make that big a differences anyways.
