I'm suppose to write a persuasive letter to my principal regardin a recommended speaker for an assembly. And of course, give reasons. S/he has to have a speech in some way that would benefit the student body with the talk. Soo any ideas who? Thanks! links if there are any!

Whats your budget look like?

Bill Cosby, Tony Robbins, even Arnold Schwartenegger can be awesome speakers.

If thats outta your price range I would suggest an important figure in your town or city.

Maybe a successful person and or celebrity.

hope this helps.

Dear Mr./Ms. Principal:

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the leading cause of death for young Americans - schoolchildren - is motor vehicle crashes. For children between the ages of 5 through 14, an average of eight children are killed and approximately 1,000 are injured in traffic crashes every day.

People aged 10 to 24 have the lowest safety belt use rate and they make up 44 percent of motor vehicle occupants involved in fatal crashes. Imagine the lives that we could save through an effort here at our school to invite speakers to address this subject at a student assembly!

The NHTSA encourages schools to hold student assemblies to have speakers tell students about the importance of seat belt and helmet use. Speakers can include law enforcement officers and medical professionals. Some teens have indicated they find peers who experienced crashes and who speak with firsthand knowledge about the consequences of not buckling up, to be the most persuasive speakers.

The school administration can contact our local highway safety office to help identify these speakers. This type of event would be a good way to kick off a "buckle-up challenge", and would provide a life saving opportunity to our school and to our community.

I urge you to visit the internet reference at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/PEOPLE/outreach/SafeSobr/18qp2/buacomms.htm for more information, and to consider scheduling a student assembly on this important topic without delay!

Sincerely,
Iamgetting An A

Hello, May I suggest a Law Enforcement official who deals ONLY in cases involving pedophilic acts.No need to get into specifics here as I have worked for over35 yrs,. trying to come up with a solution. THERE IS NONE !!These ANIMALS offend time and again. Get that officer to TALK to PARENTS and for the love of GOD open their EYES as to how FAST a child can suddenly be abducted !! The problem is ONE HECK of a LOT worse than the "Baby Boomers" and their smug overviews and thoughts on punishment make me want to "PUKE".These putrid pieces of inhuman trash should be PUT TO DEATH !! Oh your"bleeding heart do gooders will have their say. All I have to say in closing Walk a short distance in my shoes and then have to tell the parents of a DEAD VICTUM THE ACTUAL FACTUAL TRUTH !!

Is there someone in the community you know of that has overcome adversity, like blindness, or being injured in the war, etc? We had a former stand-out college baseball player who was headed for the major leagues until he got in a DUI accident. He told of the dangers of drinking and driving and the future that he lost because someone made the stupid decision to drink and drive. It was a tearjerker, think of people like that, they can make a big impact on somone's life.
