and in your head you have two answers in mind, one which is completely serious and intelligent and is actually a legitimate answer to the question posed, and another one which is complete b.s. but is more humorous and therefore you are dying to say it instead, which one do you normally choose to say? the correct answer, or the amusing one? and what is your religious background?

what a strange answer, gwhiz. you must be one of those who choose to express the b.s. answer rather than the legitimate one then?

Accurate, truthful, legitimate answers are the best ones. Humourous answers can be unintentionally offensive or expose true feelings and can also be derived from ignorance, racism, etc. I am Muslim, by the way. Nice to meet you :)

I take my answers seriously so I speak the truth but I do have a time when I have fun with humou also at other times.but yes occasionally my humour does come out, but it may not be seen as it is meant to be humorous. I chose to be religious or have a spiritual mind it was never taught to me in my family there was never even a saying of grace or a prayer to thank God my Family were not churchgoing only for weddings etc.I was the one who took it upon myself to delve into the spiritual side of things it was not ever encouraged in my Family.

Depends on the context of the questioning, whether it's online, in person, in church, in a group, at work, in a bar etc.
Btw, I've read whereby humor is something more predominant in human behaviour than any other animal. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere but I can't find it =P

I usually choose the legitimate answer because I don't want to confuse anyone but sometimes I just can't resist and let the comedy or wordplay happen--just can't help myself!! The devil made me do it. I am a Jehovah's Witness.

When it comes to salvation and eternity, I always do my best to give the best answer I can because someone's soul is at stake
and they are, as you are, someone for whom the Son of God gave His life, so that you would not have to go to hell...and even when the question comes off as being rude at times, I still try to answer the best I can, if not for that person, then for anyone who
might read the answer -- who knows when or from where -- and
I give scripture references from the Bible so the person can go there and read for themselves, along with ministry phone numbers for anyone who reads my answer and might want to call and talk about the particular subject and maybe even pray with someone can counsel them alot better than I have. I just try to give people something to think about....and that is mainly their eternal destination, because nothing is more important in this life
for one to be concerned about.....Your soul is precious to God!!!!!

If it is a serious question, I give the serious answer.
Occasionally, I can't resist giving a silly or sarcastic answer to silly or sarcastic seeming questions. Yeah, its wrong, I know.
I'm Muslim, former Christian. I quote Bible and Quran. :P

I try to only answer questions that I know the answer to in all seriousness, however I will give a sarcastic answer to a sarcastic question at times. -Christian

even if i think of both, usually serious questions get serious answers - silly questions get bs answers. if someone asks a serious question but they seem a little sad it may be a little of both if i think it might cheer them up.

it depends on the question. stupid question, stupid answer. intelligible question, intelligent answer. if I can't tell, I either don't answer, or say both. But that's just me.
