She looks like a black lab but is a B/C-Walker Hound mix. Her right eye is all black fur around it. The left looks more and more brown over the last couple of days. What could this be?

Hi there. I must have posed the question incorrectly, as all seem to have misunderstood. When Shamu was 8 weeks old, she had brown all around both eyes. The vet said she had a severe case of parasites. We cleared them up. Her eyes went to both being beautiful and black (around the outsides of her eyes). Now it looks like one of them is getting that color brown again. It does feel a little bumpy under the skin too. Really hoping it's not parasites again. They were the dickens to get rid of. She is otherwise very shiny and healthy looking. I don't need to confirm her breed (according to one post) as we know she is half border collie and half walker hound. I appreciate all replies! Thank you!

Just a lovely sounding marking as a result of her mixed genetic structure. She sounds darn cute!

That's funny because after we got our dog, we noticed that one of her eyes looked smaller than the other, but it was only because she has black hair around one eye and white hair around the other! She also started to get more brown spots in her fur for a couple months after we got her. If you really want to know what she is, you could ask the vet the next time you take her in; they might be able to give you a good idea about what the mix is.

a puppy's coat changes color.. my male beagle had a real dark blacker coat with the brown and white like all multi-color beagles. Now the black has mostly turned brown

its probally just him/her changing coats. kind of like how a snake sheds its skin.. out with the old in with the new. I wouldnt worry much about it.

But if your really worried about it ask your vet about it next time you take him/her in.
