My husband and I brought home 2 male puppies aprox. 6 weeks old that had been dumped along with 4 others where my husband works. The other 4 seemed more energetic and playful. The 2 we have are sluggish and sleep most of the time. They are all wormy which I have taken care of, and they are all mal nutritioned and our 2 are very dehydrated. We live in a very rural are so there are no vets anywhere close. I have made sure they have water, and I have fed them but not to much. Being that they are so mal nutritioned they try to eat to much, to fast, and that causes them to throw up. I feel their dehydration is the main thing I need to address and I am wanting to know if there is anything else that I can do to help them? Bless their hearts, when they do wake up they try to play and run but they just don't last long. Their energy goes down fast. Anyone have any ideas? I thank you all in advance.

Yes I do Plan on taking them to a vet as soon as I can, but until I can I am wanting to do the best I can for them. Thank you all so much for your answers. I actually had some plain yogurt and eggs. I fixed them just a bit and they seemed to really like it. I just hope they can hold it down. It is nice to know people are willing to help me help these little guys. Thank you all again, and Buster & Brown thank you too.

there are probably multiple things wrong with them, some of which might be parvo, dehydration, kennel cough, tapeworms, mange and many other things. you need to take them to a vet for their first shots and a basic checkup. and make sure you keep taking them until they are better. then once or twice a year for their shots and make sure to get them fixed.

add a little sugar to the water for a few days, but only a little.
Don't let the dogs play to much cause this will only make them
more tired. Pups really do need alot of rest, and if you crate
them, they will have to choice but to rest. There are many
products your vet could suggest that would really help, I think
you should call a vet and or go to a pet store and tell them
your situation and they could probably give you something to
help the little babies. oh, you can cook up some rice and
chicken and a couple eggs and that is a good meal for them.
It is good for them and that may help them along.

I'd still suggest getting them to the vet for a check-up. They could have parvo, or other kinds of worms. Another thing is they might have flea anemia. Give them a warm bath with baby shampoo. It kills the fleas and helps their skin.
Pedialite is good for them, but if nothing else, CALL the vet and ask if there's anything you can do for them. You're right about the eating too much too fast, as it will make them throw up due to caloric overload, and can possibly give them a gastrovascular tortion (twisted stomach or intestines).
Easy way to check for dehydration: feel their noses. Dry, dehydrated. Moist, they're not. For anemia, check their gums. If they're pink, they're all right. If they're white, get them to the vet ASAP!
Good on you and your hubby for taking in these guys. Bless your hearts and theirs. Good luck and I hope that helps.

Start giving them an egg mixed in some fat free plain yogurt (has the highest calcium content). Warm slightly in the microwave. You can also mix some puppy food, dry or in the can with it also. This should start them on their way to proper nourishment.
Feed them several times a day ... small amounts at a time...
Bless your heart for helping these little guys and hope everything goes ok for you....
GOOD LUCK HON

The worms need to be taken care of first otherwise the puppies are getting nothing.
Give them anything that has electrolytes in it. I believe Power-Ade has it and so does Pedialyte. This will help them a lot. Also becareful they do not become hypoglycemic. This happens to puppies who do not get enough to eat and can cause them to have seizures. You can combat this with a raw egg, tuna or peanut butter. Its the protein in these that helps, combat hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) Make sure to have a vet check you puppies and get them vaccinated for Parvo.

I would still try to get them to a vet but in the mean time you can give them a little pepto bismo. Keep giving them water with a dropper if you have to. They may have a intestinal disorder that only a vet can cure, you really need to have them looked at.

I am a vet and if you give them pepto bismal it could constipate only if they have diarrhea they need electrolites like pedialite they should have an IV fortified with electrolites if they are that dehydrated. if they are eating to much to fast just give them a little at a time
