This happened on Friday. He has stated that it is just a break or a breather. I feel like I have invested my heart, mind and soul into the relationship and I thought he had too. He told me he wanted to marry me just before christmas and he called me and told me that he loved me everyday that we have been together. He has been stressed and unhappy with work lately and I have been very supportive. I want to know if anyone else has experienced a breather or break in a relationship and got back together again. I talked to him today and he said it was good to hear my voice and he reassured me that this is just a breather. My intuition says that everything will be okay, but I was wondering if anyone else had this kind of experience before.

you dont have nothing to worry about he is not going any where, he did that so he dont have to take the stress out on you and i think that is a good thing .... but no woman or man would like to hear their partner say they want a break from the relationship

Why would you want a break from your support if your job sucks? Why would you want to be away from the most important person in your life if another aspect of your life is going bad? Why would you need a breather from your true love?

When engaged there really isn't room for a breathier. You are at a point in your relationship when you are engaged that means you are ready to deal with everything together. But only you know the [erson you have been spening most of your time with. Really figure out what you are feeling an then talk to your mate and let him know how you feel completely!

Fast forward to 1 month after the honeymoon, and he's stressed at work, but you've been very supportive - then he asks for a breather.....

You 2 need pre-marital counselling badly. Talk to your pastor, priest, or rabbi TODAY.

If it were me and I suffered from stress and strain of a job, I'd want to be with my partner more often, not less.

The work shouldn't have anything to do with the engagement. There must be more to it than that. Try to get him to talk about it.
