We would like to own a dog that's small in size, the one that can be carried around in the arms, who doesn't shed much fur. Our family is not very active but we have a big fenced yard, .83 acres to be exact, so we need something that's doesn't need to be accompany by owner when it needs to go. More over she or he needs to be good with young children, got any breed like that?10 fast points

Several.... Yorkie, Miniature Poodle, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Papillon (my fav in this size) West Highland White (westie), Schnauzer, Bichon Frise (lovely calm disposition and fur like cotton)....... I love Boston Terriers, great with kids and tons of personality, but they will shed some. Look up terrier and toy breeds-theres lots to choose from : )

I would suggest either a Boston Terrier or a Pug. Fit your qualifications. Also, here is a website that lists breeds of dogs that will, that wont and that might get along with children. And what behaviour to watch for in dogs when they are around yuor children

Poodles don't shed very much and come in several sizes. If you get a young one and raise it with kids, it would probably be ok.

Also, may I reccomend going to your local animal shelter and looking for a dog. You can play with the animal and introduce it to your kids before taking it home. Some places will let you foster the animal and see if it will work out with your family before adopting.

a poodle? the small kind. actually, ur best bet would be to go to the humane society in ur town and look for the small breeds there. ask them about the dogs' temperament, they do tests on most of their dogs so they can tell u which ones would be good with kids. and which ones won't grow too big. also, getting a mutt is better because they're much CHEAPER, have less health problems (pure breeds have soo many genetic health problems) and its just nice

My maltese sheds but I keep up with the shedding by daily brushes so the shedding really is not that bad.My maltese has been around my 2 year old son since my son was 6 months old. They have played together daily since.I leave him out for potty breaks and he is fine without me.
